Nike Court Air Zoom Ultra Fly

by Jonas Eriksson

Nike Court Air Zoom Ultra Fly. (That’s a lot of names!) Is this really a tennis shoe? At 220 USD I damn well hope it is. It comes with the following technologies for extra swag: Pebax propulsion plates, hexagonal Zoom Air units, a Flyknit ankle cuff and herringbone outsole.

To me, and this is my highly personal opinion, it looks slightly ridiculous. But…and this is a big but, does it perform? I’m actually looking for a new tennis shoe since my Wilson Rush Pro 2.0 wore out on the grainy hard courts I usually play on, but I’m not sure this is the way to go.

Anyone tried it? Please feel free to comment below. Also curious if you have any shoes recommendations in the category of light yet durable (this is the so called “impossible combination” of tennis shoes).

If you want to buy it, you’ll find it in pretty much all the online tennis shops (Tennis Warehouse, Tennis Point etc). Here’s the (affiliate) link to Tennis Express. If you buy it from there, you’ll “donate” a few cents to this humble tennis blog which might in the end pay the hosting fee.
