Alexander Zverev is perhaps the most promising player of the next generation. He is predicted by many to be a future world number one. But what racquet does he use?
Zverev endorses the HEAD Graphene Touch Speed Pro a well-reviewed and really nice feeling racquet, but like so many other pros he is actually using something else (read what other ATP professionals use in this post). The forums are speculating whether it is the exact same mould that Djokovic uses or a HEAD IG Speed MP (with the pro stock code TGT 262.4 D).
The specs of Alexander Zverev’s racquet with overgrip and dampener
(As published on the Tennis Warehouse forum)
Static weight: 343g
Beam width: 20mm in the hoop, 21mm throat.
Unless you want to buy a pro stock racquet, you can get a HEAD IG Speed MP pretty cheap and put a bit of lead tape on it to match his specs. But remember, what works for the pro players might not work for you.
Here is a picture of what Zverev did to his racquet when he got trashed by Rafael Nadal in Monte Carlo earlier this year (I was there to see it live).
