I’ve been thinking about this a bit lately – because I’ve been in another period of trying out and switching racquets. It’s fun and a pain at the same time. How often do you switch racquets? Since I like to try and review new racquets from time to time, it’s difficult for me to groove with a racquet and maintain a consistent setup for tournament play. Right now I’m playing around with mainly two racquets and setups: The HEAD IG Radical Pro and the Angell TC 97 Custom 18×20. The IG is very happy with Solinco Hyper-G as the full …

The massively hyped-up Project One 7 has been revealed as the new Babolat Pure Strike. You’ve maybe read the glowing reviews? Usually I’m skeptical towards reviews, especially by companies selling the racquets themselves (like Tennis Warehouse), but you can’t but react to the amazing feedback that the new Babolat Pure Strike has received. News reports from the games have mostly talked about Brazil’s flimsy economy at the moment, the players’ rough accommodations and every other article is another tennis player withdrawing from the tournament (5 out of top 10 ATP so far). I have a feeling the interest around the olympic tennis medal won’t be very strong considering. In other news, Novak Djokovic broke the record for number of Masters titles (30). It wasn’t the strongest Roger’s …
My new weapon of choice is the Prince Textreme Tour 95. I can’t believe I’ve changed racquets yet again, but something about this stick talked to me with its really nice “classic” specs, yet friendly swing-weight and open string pattern. It’s rare you find a modern racquet with a stiffness rating (strung) of 60 RA so this was just too much of a good fit for my game to pass up on. Not that I don’t miss the Wilson Blades in some respect, they had more power and forgiveness, but I just can’t move away from the 95 inch headsize. …
