Two more pro players update are in: Daria Kasatkina to Artengo and Aslan Karatsev to Hydrogen as his apparel sponsor.
Daria Kasatkina is enjoying the warm-up weeks in Australia. Today she defeated Garbine Mugurza in straight sets to advanced to the semi-final in WTA Sydney. She is doing so with a new racquet, an Artengo TR990 POWER Pro by the looks of it. It is a 300 gram power racquet from Artengo. Whether it’s exactly that racquet or a so-called pro stock version is hard to say, but it looks like the real deal. And judging from the results, she is playing well with it.
Kasatkina has moved to Artengo from her previous racquet sponsor Tecnifibre. It’s the second major signing from the French sports retail giant, they also signed Gael Monfils.
Kasatkina plays her sem-final in Sydney against 5th seed Paula Badosa. She is ranked 26 in the world, but has been as high as number 10 and has won four WTA titles in her career.
Aslan Karatsev to Hydrogen
Karatsev had his breakthrough season last year and won the most improved ATP player award as he jumped from 112 to 15 after some spectacular runs and wins against strong players. He is also starting 2022 in style, with a semi-final in Sydney. In the semis he will face Dan Evans.
Talking about style, Karatsev used to wear no-brand t-shirts during his rise to fame. Not so anymore. Now niche Italian brand Hydrogen (previously with Fognini and Berdych etc) has signed both Karatsev and Fucsovics.
Karatsev has however not made any racquet changes and is still using his trusted PT57A.
