Yoshihito Nishioka’s Racquet

by Tennisnerd

The Japanese 21-year-old Yoshihito Nishioka stood for possibly the biggest upset in this year’s edition of Indian Wells so far (on par with Pospisil beating Murray?) when he defeated Tomas Berdych 1-6 7-6 6-4 in a thriller of a tennis match. Nishioka is one of the shorter players on the tour with his 1.73 meters above the ground (5 foot 7) but can still pack a great punch with his Yonex SV 98 and the Yonex Poly Tour Spin string.

Buy the Yonex SV 98 or Yonex Poly Tour Spin at Tennis Express.

Nishioka is up against another Yonex player in the next round, Stan Wawrinka (if you wonder about Stan Wawrinka’s racquet, read this article), and the young Japanese player will have to bring out all the stops to be able to beat a Wawrinka that seems to be in great form. At least judging by his match against Philipp Kohlschreiber which had a lot of footage for the highlight reel.

Here is a pretty great court-level video of Nishioka during the qualifiers in Indian Wells:
