Zhizhen Zhang is a rising top 50 player with a versatile and powerful game. But what is Zhizhen Zhang’s racquet?
The reason this question came up recently is that Zhizhen Zhang’s racquet has quite an eye-catching cosmetic. He is a HEAD Radical user, but his current racquet has shades of pink and light blue instead of the standard dark blue and orange.
I wondered briefly if he was trying something new, but it is actually a limited edition, China-only, cosmetic for the Radical.
The design looks fresh in a good way and the comments on Instagram have been very positive. Sadly, for most people, this will not be available for purchase.
It is quite common for racquet companies to release certain racquets and/or cosmetics for specific markets. One example is the older generation of the HEAD Extreme Pro (the heavier 100 sq in, dense string pattern 16/19 racquet) that is only currently available in Italy due to Matteo Berrettini’s loyal fanbase.
Now I am curious to hear what you think of Zhizhen Zhang’s racquet cosmetic. Do you have any more information like specs and string choice and setup? Please let us know in the comments.
