The Wimbledon Championships has announced a record ยฃ50 million prize money offering for the 2024 event.

The European grass season is in full swing and we have a few warm-up ATP tournaments leading up to the big event of the summer, the 2024 Wimbledon in London.

The All England Club was recently announcing a few details regarding the tournament in the annual spring briefing that took place two days ago. As expected, the prize money was one of the main topics of interest.

A record prize money pot

The total prize pot is being increased by 11.9% from last year (ยฃ44.7 million in 2023) and is now at ยฃ50 million.

The singles champions of both the menโ€™s and womenโ€™s competition will receive ยฃ2.7 million while the and runners-up will get ยฃ1.4 million. For the singles competition, the first round prize money was set at ยฃ60K.

This means that the Wimbledon singles winner this summer will get a ยฃ350,000 increase compared to the money that was awarded to last year’s winners: Carlos Alcarazย and Marketa Vondrousova.

This new ยฃ50 million prize pot is twice the ยฃ25 million that was offered to players at Wimbledon 10 years ago.

Below is a more detailed breakdown of the prize money being awarded.
