Valentin Vacherot was born on November 16th, 1998, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France. Vacherot, who played college tennis at Texas A&M University, turned pro after a standout senior year in 2019-20, where he had a 26-3 singles record. He is coached by his half-brother, former player Benjamin Balleret.
Vacherotโs pro career took off in 2022 when he won his first ATP Challenger title at the Nonthaburi Challenger in Thailand, defeating Ly Hoang Nam, becoming Monacoโs second Challenger champion ever. His career-high singles ranking of number 110 came in June, 2024, after a 15-0 Challenger start that year, including titles in Nonthaburi (twice) and Pune.
His ATP Tour breakthrough came in April 2025, at the Monte-Carlo Masters, where, as a wildcard ranked no 255, he stunned Jan-Lennard Struff 6-2, 6-1 in under an hour, his first main-tour win. This made him the first Monรฉgasque to win an ATP match since 2009. Vacherot also made his Grand Slam main-draw debut at Roland Garros 2024 as a qualifier, the first Monรฉgasque to do so since 2011. In Davis Cup play for Monaco, he holds a 6-1 record, with his first tour-level win in 2022 against Moroccoโs Younes Lalami Laaroussi.
