Pro Player Strings from Monte Carlo

Written by: Jonas Eriksson | April 14, 2025

We got some pro player strings and tensions from Monte Carlo. Have a look at the list below and feel free to correct if we missed anything.

The Monte Carlo Masters is over for this year. You can read a weekly summary in This Week in Tennis. Huge congrats to Carlos Alcaraz, who beat an injured Lorenzo Musetti in the final. This is already Alcaraz’ sixth Masters title to add to his four Grand Slams. This is incredible for a player at such a young age.

Players that stood out this week were Alex De Minaur, who lost a nailbiter to Musetti in the semi-finals. Beating Dimitrov with a “bicycle” or a double bagel in the quarter-final was a shocking and impressive result. Another player that looked good was Stefanos Tsitsipas, who also lost to Musetti. He will be dangerous for this clay season.

Same can be said for Arthur Fils, who took Alcaraz to the wire in their semi-final. He was break up in the final set, but Carlitos came back.

In the category of disappointments, Zverev lost his first match to Berrettini. He is still struggling to find the game he had at the start of the year.

Djokovic lost in straight sets to Tabilo and you do start to wonder how much he has left in the tank for Masters tournaments. Unless he is a 100% motivated, it is tough to see him win tournaments at this stage. But things might be different at the French Open.

Another loss was Rune who retired after one set to Borges. He is playing in Munich this week, so did not seem like a serious injury.

Overall, it was a challenging week for the players with cold temperatures and windy and slow conditions. Alcaraz was the best at overcoming the adversity and is a well-deserved winner. He is not included in the tension sheet below since he travels with his own stringer.
