Having just watched Carlos Alcaraz winning the Indian Wells Masters, attention now turns to part 2 of the Sunshine Double, the 2024 Miami Open, where World No 1 Iga Swiatek and defending champion Daniil Medvedev will be the headlines.

Where is it?
Once again, the Miami Open is being played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, one of the top tennis locations in the US. The main court (Stadium Court) has a capacity of approx. 13,800.
Top Players
So, who is playing at the 2024 Miami Open? We still have to wait a little for the complete list. Defending champion Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul looks set to be part of the field.
There are some major players that will be missing out on the Miami Open this year though. World no 1 Novak Djokovic that went out in a shocker against Luca Nardi at the Indian Wells, just recently stated in a tweet that he will not take part in the Miami event.
Hi Miami!
— Novak Djokovic (@DjokerNole) March 16, 2024
Unfortunately I won’t be playing the @MiamiOpen this year. At this stage of my career, I’m balancing my private and professional schedule. I’m sorry that I won’t experience some of the best and most passionate fans in the world. I’m looking fw competing in MI in future!
Rafal Nadal is another big name to miss out, even though this was more expected, following the withdrawal from the Indian Wells earlier. Nadal has stated that he will not be back until he feels he can compete on the highest level, hopefully for the start of the clay season.
Jannik Sinner will hopefully be available, however he stated he will only play Miami Open if he’s 100% fit. The current concern is a slight hit to the elbow he got in the Indian Wells final
Stan Wawrinka and Nick Kyrgios also looks set to miss the Miami Masters 1000 event and on the Women’s side we’ll have to do without big names such as Petra Kvitova and Karolina Muchova.
Iga Swiatek will most likely be the big favorite for the trophy while facing competition from players such as Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Naomi Osaka among other top names.

Petra Kvitová took home the women’s title after beating Elena Rybakina in the final (7-6, 6-2). Iga Swiatek did not have the chance to defend her title that year as she pulled out with injury.
