Italian Lorenzo Musetti is taking on world no 13 Taylor Fritz on the first day of the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters in an interesting match.
American Taylor Fritz had a decent start to the season, went out against Novak in the AO quarterfinals and got the trophy at the Delray Beach Open. After that his results has been a bit mixed and he had a quick exit from the Miami Open.
Musetti, likewise, had had a rocky season and after some good performances in Miami, many thought he was back in form but a straight-set exit to Nuno Borges in the Estoril ATP took him right back down.
The Italian is the slightly better player on clay, however, Fritz has improved his record on this surface drastically since the beginning of his career.
