We’re all looking forward to the finals in Miami after a strange tournament where we’ve seen plenty of upsets. Djokovic and Sabalenka are favorites heading into this weekends clashes at the ATP/WTA Miami Masters 1000. Here are our Miami Open final predictions.
Mensik vs. Djokovic
March 30, 2025, 20:00 CEST
Head-to-Head: 0-1
Jakub Mensik is on a six-match winning streak. In Miami, he stunned Draper in the second round, and in the Round of 16, Machac retired during their match. In the quarterfinals, Mensik dominated Fils, winning comfortably in straight sets. In the semifinals, the Czech player triumphed over Fritz in three hard-fought sets, spending nearly three hours on court. Mensik showed impressive composure, especially in the deciding set.
Novak Djokovic has also won five consecutive matches this week in Miami, claiming straight-set victories in each. In the Round of 16, he crushed Musetti, conceding just four games. The quarterfinals saw Korda leading 5-2 in the second set, but Djokovic turned the match around to win in straight sets. In the semifinals, Djokovic faced early adversity when he lost his serve but responded by dominating Dimitrov, winning 6-2, 6-3. Read more on Djokovic current racquet.
Best Bet to Make
Looking at the odds at the bookmakers have Djokovic as the favorite, and we agree with this assessment. The Serb is on a mission, aiming for his 100th ATP career title. Djokovic has been in top form, not losing a single set throughout the tournament. While Mensik is in good form, his semifinal battle against Fritz was grueling, and the fatigue may affect his performance in the final. We expect Djokovic to dominate and claim another easy victory.
Value Bet / Best Odds: Novak Djokovic -3.5 games handicap @ 1.67 or –150
WTA Masters 1000 Miami Final
Sabalenka vs. Pegula
March 29, 2025, 20:00 CEST
Head-to-Head: 6-2
Aryna Sabalenka has won five consecutive matches. She has been in superb form throughout the tournament, defeating Zheng in the quarterfinals with ease. Despite trailing 2-4 in the second set, Sabalenka made a remarkable comeback. In the semifinals, she cruised past Paolini, saving all four breakpoints and winning in straight sets. Jessica Pegula has also won five straight matches. In the third round, after over two hours on court, she edged out Kalinskaya in three sets. In the Round of 16, Pegula dominated Kostyuk 6-2, 6-3. However, her quarterfinals and semifinals were much tougher, with both matches going three sets. Pegula had a particularly challenging semifinal against Alexandra Eala, which lasted nearly three hours, but Pegula came through by serving superbly in the deciding set.
Best Bet to Make
The bookmakers favor Sabalenka in this matchup, and we share the same view. Sabalenka has been more dominant than Pegula throughout the week, while Pegula has already played three physically demanding three-setters. This could leave her fatigued for the final. Sabalenka has been flawless, winning every set and dominating their last two encounters with straight-set victories under similar conditions.
Value Bet / Best Odds: Aryna Sabalenka to win 2-0 @ 1.83 or -120
