Tabilo the local hope

Alejandro Tabilo has had a quite decent season, kicking off 2024 with a title win in Auckland, hinting at what could be a breakthrough year for him. He has already climbed over 140 spots in the rankings in around 12 months. His path to the Santiago final was highlighted by a fine victory over Tomas Barrios Vera, showing off his great play on clay, a surface he usually likes.

It won’t be easy today though, even if he will have a home crowd behind him that is of course hoping for one one of its countrymen with the trophy for the second consecutive year.

Sebastian Baez enters the final riding high from his first ever ATP 500 title in Rio recently, a victory that got him to a career-high ATP ranking of #21. His performance in Santiago has been fantastic as well, breezing through matches without dropping a set and we can see why he’s a favorite for the title.

Baez’s clay court record in 2024? An impressive 11-2.

I think these are solid predictions as Baez’s form on clay just recently has been superb whereas Tabilo’s isn’t to bad neither, but yes I also think this match will go only one way.
