It’s clear tennis apparel is very important for both professionals and amateur tennis players nowadays. It’s not only new racquets and strings we are looking for at the shops, tennis clothing is big business and that is shown in the huge sponsorship deals signed by the players on tour.
Here we’ll look at some of the top tennis clothing brands (or at least our favorites) along with our top choices for tennis outfits, both on and off the court.
Top Tennis Brands for Clothes
When it comes to finding a good tennis outfit or just see what’s new in tennis clothing, we usually head over to these brands.
Wilson | NordicDots | Nike | Adidas | HEAD | K-Swiss
Wilson
Wilson has been around over a century and is one of the top sellers of high-performance sports apparel, including tennis wear. Wilson constantly deliver great performance tennis rackets, bags, tennis balls and much more.
We especially like their latest training shorts and performance shirts.
In our opinion, Wilson has much improved in recent years and I’m sure you’ve seen some of their most famous collections, including “the Marta Dress”, a colab with Marta Kostyuk where her outfit is inspired by her wedding dress
NordicDots
Not as well known as some of the other names mentioned here, but a good option if you’re looking for good quality, sustainable tennis clothes with a nice design. In their own words: “…for people who love tennis, padel, clean Scandinavian design and sustainability”
We play ourselves with NordicDots wear quite often and have only positive things to say about both material and designs! These are probably the clothes that will be with you the longest, no matter how much you wash them.
Visit Nordic Dots here and get 15% off with the code TENNISNERD15.
Nike
Probably the biggest of them all, even though it might have faded a bit with Federer retiring and Rafa heading in the same direction… Most of us tennis nerds have probably heard about the massive contracts Nike has signed with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz though, and they are still one of the most seen brands on tour, among the top players.
The designs lately are clean and nice, but also, not very challenging and exciting. Basically, with Nike you know exactly what you get, both when it comes to quality and look.
Who wears Nike? Apart from Sinner and Alcaraz, we can see Frances Tiafoe, Jack Draper, Sebastian Korda, Holger Rune, Aryna Sabalenka and many other in the classic Nike designs.
Adidas
Famous for its iconic three-stripe design, Adidas has been around since 1949 and is one of the main brands on the ATP and WTA tour nowadays.
In recent years they’ve been known to try to create really creative prints and designs. Have they always succeeded? Nah, not in our opinion.
Who wears Adidas? Some of the known players endorsing Adidas are Alexander Zverev, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Elina Svitolina.
HEAD
Very well known among tennis players, mostly for racquets, HEAD has been around for almost 75 years, offering quality tennis clothing alongside other gear.
In their latest collections, HEAD gives us a modern vibe, often with vibrant colors. They mix high-performance fabrics with edgy prints and sleek silhouettes, perfect for players who want to stand out.
K-Swiss
K-Swiss tennis wear keeps it simple and stylish with a clean, sporty vibe. Think classic designs, comfortable materials and mostly neutral colors with some bold pops here and there. It’s a nice mix of classic and modern performance with a timeless, low-key look that works for most players.
We’ve seen more and more pro’s getting on the court with K-Swiss apparel recently.
More Tennis Clothing Brands
Others brands worth checking out for tennis wear: Lacoste, Joma, Fila, Puma, Babolat, New Balance, Under Armour and Asics. The latest collections from each of these brands can be found at Tennis Warehouse (USA), Tennis Warehouse Europe or Tennis Only (AU).
Best Tennis Outfits and Collections
We wanted to present some of our favorite tennis collections and outfits for 2024.
Nike – New York Collection
Atmospheric colours and breathable textures are just some of the words to describe the hyped New York collection that we’ve just seen on several tennis stars at the US Open.
As always from Nike, the quality is there and you’ll be comfortable on the court, in any weather. Using breathable mesh panels and Dri-FIT ADV technology you will have this nice stretchy feel.
Aryna Sabalenka’s Nike Fall Slam Dress and the lavender colored top on Tiafoe was really standing out during the NY Grand Slam.
Yonex 2024 Collection
The new collection from Yonex has some really cool color palettes of light blue, indigo marine and pink mostly.
The left pic shows Elena Rybakina in the pink Yonex 2024 NYC Tank and NYC Skirt
Tennis core
You might have heard the term “tennis core” already, it’s a fashion trend inspired by tennis outfits, featuring sporty clothing like pleated skirts, polos and various tennis dresses. Basically, it’s all about looking athletic and chic, even if you’re not on the court.
Here are some brands that is good at mixing performance and style, making them a good choice for on-court or off-court tennis core looks.
