Babolat Propulse Fury

by TN

The new Babolat Propulse Fury tennis shoe is here and it looks great in its feisty fluro red. The shoe comes equipped with a 6-month outsole durability guarantee, which you hopefully won’t need to use since it’s supposed to be very durable thanks to  S-Shield, Pro Shield and Soft Shield technology, which utilizes high-performance materials and localized reinforcements for greater durability. Talking about durability, Babolat has partnered with Michelin Performance for superior traction and, yes here it comes again, durability.

There are lots of marketing jargon when you talk about tennis technology and it’s hard to understand half of it. The important thing to remember is to understand the kind of fit you’re looking for depending on the shape of your feet.

The Babolat Propulse Fury seems to be designed mainly for stability and durability and play-testers did talk about a great fit and improved cushioning in the forefoot area. However, some complained about some heel-slippage and this would be a typical knock for me on a tennis shoe, but, like I said, this is obviously depending on the shape of your foot.

The Babolat Propulse Fury mainly gets really high marks across the board and especially on areas such as ventilation and stability/support. They have a pretty “grabby” surface so there are not made for Djokovic-like slides but to make sure you always feel stable on court. Several play-testers think this is the best tennis shoe they’ve every tried and most of them like it, although one or two testers mention that it feels heavy.

The Babolat Propulse Fury will be endorsed and used by French ATP pro Benoit Paire.
