New HEAD Boom 2024 racquets are being released today. This time, they’re available in two different colorways!
2024 is a big year for racquet releases. Some important models have already been updated, and we are only in March!
What is new in the HEAD Boom 2024 racquets?
The new Boom racquets bring Auxetic 2.0. Auxetic 2 is described as a “a uniquely flexible material in the yoke and handle to optimize the response”. I do feel like the introduction of Auxetic in HEAD racquets have been a largely positive update compared to Graphene 360+ with improved feel and comfort.
Other technologies for HEAD Boom is the Morph beam, which is supposed to create a larger sweet spot, similar to the Yonex Isometric head shape.
The racquets also come with power grommets, which is supposed to maximize string movement for comfort and free depth and directional drilling for a plush impact feel.
This is the marketing jargon and can, as always, be taken with a pinch of salt, but the racquets do feel better on impact than their predecessors.

HEAD Boom MP 2024
This is a user-friendly mid-plus racquet with a comfortable feel and ample power and spin. I feel like it suits spin-oriented players better than those who hit with lower trajectories over the net. You can get this racquet in the regular cosmetic or a new Mint one, which looks really fresh (pun intended).

HEAD Boom Pro 2024
The most controlled racquet in the line-up with a smaller head size and thinner beam profile. A racquet quite similar to the HEAD Radical Pro and Extreme Tour, but with a softer feel. This model is not available in the mint cosmetic for some reason.
