Daniel Altmaier is a German player with a career high rank of 47 (October -23), but what is Altmaier’s racquet and gear?
Daniel Altmaier’s tennis racquet
Daniel Altmaier’s tennis racquet is the Yonex Ezone 98. I am not sure which generation he is using. Many pros favor the Ezone DR 98, but this might be something else.
Altmaier strings his racquets with Big Banger Original 1.30 at 24.5 kg (mains) and Luxilon Alu Power 1.25 at 23.5 kg (crosses) according to the string tensions from Monte Carlo 2025. Bio and Career
Daniel Altmaier was born on September 12th, 1998, in Kempen, Germany. He began playing tennis at the age of 7 and speaks four languages (German, English, Russian and Spanish).
Turning pro in 2014, Altmaier got into the top 100 in the rankings in November 2021, reaching a career-high No. 47 on October 2, 2023.
Altmaierโs breakthrough came at the 2020 Roland Garros, where, as a qualifier ranked No. 186, he stunned No. 7 Matteo Berrettini to reach the fourth round on his Grand Slam debut, the fourth man since 2000 to do so. In 2023, he managed a career-defining win over Jannik Sinner at Roland Garros in a five-set, 5-hour-26-minute marathon, the seasonโs second-longest match. That year, he also upset no 7 ranked Andrey Rublev in Hamburg and reached his first ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinal in Madrid. In 2024, he added a Top 10 scalp, beating No. 6 Alexander Zverev in Acapulco. His Top 10 record stands at an impressive 4-4 and we’ll see if he can continue these wins over top ranked opponents.
In 2025, he upset no. 16 Fรฉlix Auger-Aliassime at Monte-Carlo for his first win there, followed up by a win over veteran Richard Gasquet. With seven Challenger titles, including Sarasota 2023, Altmaier will be a player to watch on the tour, no matter who’s on the other side of the net.
