Eva Lys is the current No. 1 German woman in tennis, at no 76 in the WTA rankings, but what is her racquet and gear?

Eva Lys tennis racquet is a Yonex VCORE 100, most likely an older version in the Yonex VCORE 2023 cosmetic. She strings it with Yonex Poly Tour Pro, but we don’t know the tension or exact specifications of her racquets.

She was using a blacked-out Yonex racquet a couple of years ago, so it is possible she has switched from the VCORE SV 100 she was using since earlier in her career.

Bio and Career

Eva Lys was born on January 12th, 2002, in Kyiv, Ukraine, but moved to Germany at the age of two.

Lys made a name for herself in 2022 with her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, where she qualified and upset Viktorija Golubic before falling to then world no 1 Iga Swiatek in the second round.

Her Grand Slam debut came at the 2023 Australian Open as a qualifier, though she went out in the first round. A breakthrough followed at the 2023 US Open, where she got her first major win over wildcard Robin Montgomery. In 2023, she also reached her first WTA semifinal at the Transylvania Open in Cluj-Napoca, defeating top seed Sorana Cirstea for her maiden Top 30 victory.

The 2025 season has been great for Lys. At the Australian Open, she made history as the first lucky loser in the womenโ€™s draw to reach the fourth round, defeating Kimberly Birrell, Varvara Gracheva and Jaqueline Cristian before Swiatek was too tough for her. This run got her into the Top 100 for the first time. She continued her momentum at the WTA 1000 Dubai Championships, qualifying and securing her first win at that level over Irina-Camelia Begu, further climbing the ranks.

She is coached by her father, Vladimir, a former Ukrainian Davis Cup player, and mentored by ex-WTA pro Barbara Rittner.

Lys has claimed three ITF singles titles, with her first that came in 2020 at Altenkirchen, Germany. She has a career-high WTA singles ranking of 76 (March 2025), making her the current No. 1 German woman in tennis.
