Richard Gabriel Cyr Gasquet was born on June 18th, 1986, in Bรฉziers, France and he started playing tennis at age of 4.
Turning pro in 2002 at age 15, Gasquet quickly made history as the youngest player to win an ATP Tour match since 1990, defeating Franco Squillari at Monte-Carlo. A former junior world no 1, he won the 2002 Roland Garros and US Open junior titles and earned the nickname of Franceโs โMozart of tennis.โ

Gasquetโs career peaked at number 7 in the world rankings in July, 2007, and he has lifted 16 ATP singles title trophies, including three at his home event in Montpellier, where he holds a record 29 wins. His Grand Slam highlights include three semifinals (Wimbledon 2007 and 2015, and the US Open 2013) being beaten by top names Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal. He also reached the Nitto ATP Finals in 2007 and 2013. On clay, he stunned No. 1 Roger Federer at 2005 Monte-Carlo, one of his 36 Top 10 victories.
