Victoria Mboko

Victoria Mboko is an American-born Canadian tennis player and promising talent, that we can expect to climb the rankings in the near future. Currently at world no 162 at only 18 years of age, but what is Victoria Mboko’s racquet and gear?

Victoria Mboko’s racquet

Victoria Mboko’s racquet was an Ezone 100 before she switched to Wilson a few years ago. She is endorsing the Wilson Blade, but if you study the racquet, you can see that it is a Wilson Steam 99 in 16/18 string pattern. She strings it with what looks like Luxilon Original in the mains and natural gut in the crosses. This is a popular racquet on the WTA tour, especially. But Alex de Minaur and Luca van Assche also uses it. We have previously made videos asking Wilson to bring back this racquet (the Steam 99 and Steam 100 BLX specifically) and it looks like it might be happening later this year.

Bio and Career

Victoria Mboko was born on August 26th, 2006, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Raised in Burlington, Ontario (CA), Victoria started playing tennis at the age of four. Later on she started training at the National Tennis Centre in Montreal, and the now 18-year-old right-hander has already made some success in her young career.

Mbokoโ€™s professional journey took off 2022 when she made her WTA Tour main-draw debut in doubles at the Canadian Open together with Kayla Cross. That same year, she debuted in singles as well, as a wildcard at the Championnats Banque Nationale de Granby, (lost to Rebecca Marino). Her junior career also included finals appearances in the doubles events at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon, where she finished as runner-up in both.

The 2025 season has been a breakout for Mboko. She kicked off the season with an impressive 22-match winning streak without even dropping a set, securing four ITF singles titles in just around two months. This form continued as she claimed her fifth title of the year, getting her record to 27-1 on the ITF circuit and climbing from no 333 to 162 in the WTA rankings. Earlier highlights include defending her title at the Saskatoon Challenger in 2023, and claiming her third career title in Darmstadt, Germany, in 2024.
