Let’s have a closer look at the new tennis shoes from Wilson, the Rush Pro 4.5. In this article we’ll go through some more detailed information as well as our thoughts of the updated Rush Pro version.
The Rush Pro 4.5 edition, released in June 2024, is endorsed by several top pro’s including Nico Jarry, Marta Kostyuk and Peyton Stearns.
Besides a new and improved design, the main upgrades are improved stability, breathability and durability. You will notice the mesh upper design has been much improved both for looks and breathability.
Improved stability
According to Wilson, compared to the 4.0 version, they have focused on “modernizing the model” and giving a “better sense of stability” on the court. This is mainly from the Propulsion Plate underneath the foot that gives the stability needed for strong movers.
The Duralast rubber compound and the and the tread pattern, will give greater durability, and allowing hard courts sliders to gain further control.

Our Review of the Wilson Rush Pro 4.5 shoes
I have been trying the new Wilson Rush Pro 4.5 tennis shoe the last couple of weeks. This version has a really good cushioning even for a heavy player like me.
The hardcourt outsole has a very interesting pattern and I presume it’s made for sliding on hardcourt. I also tried it on clay and it worked pretty ok as well.
The shoe has good breathability and it feels like good ventilation overall. The mesh upper have an interesting and thought trough design with larger holes in the front and smaller in the back.
It will be interesting to see how the durability is over the next couple of months with this shoe.

I have worn the Wilson Rush Pro series for a very long time and found the 4.0 version to run .5 size larger than any previous version. Did you find the 4.5 version to be true to size or also larger?
Just got back into tennis this year and went with those, they’re relatively confortable and provide really good grip, I play in hard courts and had no problems, definitely would recommend
