Coco Gauff had some rough months with a series of disappointing results, not at least her failure to defend her US Open title. Following the fall from 3rd to 6th in the WTA rankings, Coco has now split with main coach Brad Gilbert after a 14 month run.
This comes after a string of poor results from the American; from the round-of 16 exit at Wimbledon and the Olympics, to the unexpected outing at the US Open where she made 19 double faults in the 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 loss to Emma Navarro in the fourth round.

These results can be compared to her success at the same period last year when she won at both at the ATP Cincinnati and Washington before claiming her first Grand Slam at the 2023 US Open (she defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final, 2–6, 6–3, 6–2).
Brad Gilbert, the American who is know for his work with legends such as Andre Agassi and Andy Murray, confirmed the news himself via X:
