Today the player line-up for the Mallorca Championships was presented and it surely included a lot of interesting names.
The organizers seem to have been focusing on getting a good mix of established, well-known top players as well as talents and upcoming stars for this popular ATP250 tournament.
“Local favourite Jaume Munar is in the best moment of his career. With Ben Shelton we have a clear contender to be number 1 in the ranking. Combined with crowd favourites like Gaël Monfils, who is probably the most spectacular player on the circuit, and last year’s champion and thus title defender Christopher Eubanks, excitement and high performance are guaranteed for tennis fans around the world.” commented Toni Nadal, the sports director for the tournament.

- Tallon Griekspoor (NED) – Ranked 25
- Tomas Machac (CZE) – Ranked 34
- Jordan Thompson (AUS) – Ranked 36
- Gael Monfils (FRA) – Ranked 37
- Luciano Darderi (ITA) – Ranked 40
- Sebastian Ofner (AUT) – Ranked 45
Now there has also been extended invitations to veteran Dominic Thiem (Austria) and Fabio Fognini (Italy).
“Fognini is one of the most attractive players on the circuit, while Dominic Thiem is happy to return to the Mallorca Country Club to play one of his last matches on grass in what is his farewell year, as the player announced a few weeks ago,” was the words from Edwin Weindorfer, CEO of e|motion (the company that organizes the event)
The official name of the tournament is Mallorca Championships presented by waterdrop®, and the organizers were delighted to present waterdrop® as the new presenting partner of the event.
There are still two remaining invitations to be announced, most likely in the coming days.
The ATP250 Mallorca Championships takes place from 22-29 June in Mallorca Country Club, Santa Ponça (Calvià).
