Podcast: Halfway at the US Open

by Jonas Eriksson

We are halfway through the US Open, and it’s been an eventful event! Dennis and I summarize our thoughts in a podcast.

We are halfway through the US Open and we have seen Serena’s illustrious career come to an end, Simona Halep lose in the first round, Alcaraz blast through the draw confidently, Rafa and Medvedev do the same, and Caroline Garcia, Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff do it on the women’s side. In between all this there have been plenty of drama, many exciting matches, and some upsets.

In this podcast, Dennis Timar and I talk about all that and we also cover some of the apparel and one or two racquet updates. We try to chat once a week and cover what is happening in the tennis world, and I hope you enjoy our podcasts. If you want to keep up with Dennis, you can check out his Facebook page. In the comments below, I would also appreciate feedback or topics and questions you want us to cover.

Hi Tennisnerds – I have a side issue that may not be agreed on.
After looking at prize money for the US Open I was surprised to see that to get to the round of 16 the prize was only paid $56,400 for the team.
I back this up as playing doubles takes a lot of co-ordination and yes there are two to swap notes during play but to get to this standing in a major is excellent in anyone’s books. How many of us have got to this level reading this ?
regards Ed
