We all know that Holger Rune is one of the best players in the world. That is why the bookmakers hardly give you anything if you bet on him. But Pablo Llamas Ruiz is an exciting 21-year-old Spanish talent who showcased some great tennis in his first round win against Richard Gasquet.
Do we have a possible upset on or hands? Why not? A bet on Llamas Ruiz gives something like six times your money.
They have never played before and Llamas Ruiz has actually only played one ATP match according to the ATP tour website. But the tennis he played the other day tells me he has a bright future. I also know that his coach, Agustin Boje, knows his tennis and was actually himself a talented player.
And, to add to the interest in this match, Holger Rune recently quit his only 2-month old relationship with Federer coach Severin Luthi. Not sure what happened there, but the Dane might be somewhat unbalanced at the moment.
I still think he will come through in this match, but it might go to three sets. It will be a fun one to watch, though!
