We continue with our featured match of the day. This is the second day in a row we feature Shapovalov, but it is simply the most appetizing match-up.
Yesterday, we thought Shapo’s rust from his injury return would continue (he was 0-2), but he played a great match against Gaston and didn’t give him any chances. Can he keep it up against a much tougher opponent on paper?
The thing with Alexander Bublik is that you never know which player will turn up. Is he in a good mood? Is he hungover and grumpy? Will he wow us with flashy shots and spectacular serving or will he go straight to the tank bank after a things go against him?
Bublik is the very slight favorite in the odds if you look at the best tennis betting sites, but this is very open match. If Shapovalov plays like he did in round 1, he will most likely win. But Bublik’s game gives you far less rhythm than Gaston’s. He also leads their head-to-head 2-0 (they played in Marseille 2020), but the matches have gone to three sets.
This will be a fun one to watch but a very tricky one to predict. I will go with Bublik 2 sets to 1, which should give 4.5 times the money.
