Jakub Mensik is one of the top talented teenagers on tour, with a really powerful serve and a strong forehand, but what is Jakub Mensik’s racquet? Check our player profile of the Czech below.

Mensik has just claimed his first ATP title at the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami, beating Djokovic in the final in straight sets.

Jakub Mensik’s Racquet

Jakub Mensik’s racquet is a Wilson Blade 98 with an 18/19 string pattern. He used to play with the Blade 98 18/20 but switched to the slightly more open pattern for more free depth. A similar pattern to Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev. The ATP Tour wrote about Mensik’s racquet.

The 18-year-old is also using more static weight, but the balance point is closer to the handle, and therefore, the racquet is more headlight.

We don’t know Mensik’s exact racquet specs, but he strings his racquets with Luxilon Alu Power. If you know more, let us know in the comments. Thanks.

Biography and Career

Jakub Mensik was born on 1st September 2005 in Prostejov, Czech Republic and he started playing tennis at the age of 5. In 2022, on the junior tour, Mensik achieved a career-high ITF junior combined ranking of World No 3. His main achievement during the junior years were reaching the final of the 2022 Australian Open Junior event.

Later that year Mensik turned pro and it was in 2023 when the Czech talent made his Grand Slam debut. Through qualifiers he got into the main draw of the US Open. There he defeated Gregoire Barrere and Titouan Droguet before he lost to Taylor Fritz in in the third round.

Before that, in May of 2023, Mensik had just won his first Challenger, at the 2023 Sparta Prague Open.

2024 saw Mensik continue his career with good performances at the Australian Open and at the US Open where he once again reached the 3rd round.

We also saw him get his first main draw Masters win over Hong Seong-chan at the BNP Paribas Open. This followed by his first Masters quarterfinal at the Shanghai Masters (youngest quarterfinalist in the history of this event) where he defeated Rublev and Dimitrov, two top 10 players.

In 2025, Mensik seem to climb to the next level, by winning the Miami Open in impressive style, beating Djokovic in straight sets in the final as a big underdog.

Jakub Mensik is currently ranked 24 on the official ATP ranking and that is also his career-high rank.
