Wednesday 13th November will see third-seed Carlos Alcaraz take on eighth-seed Andrey Rublev in the Nitto ATP Finals. Both of them lost their opening matches in Turin and need a win here.
Alcaraz loss to Casper Ruud was really a surprise, he had a nice 4-0 lead in their h2h and the Norwegian also had a loosing streak of four games coming into the Turin event. However, it seems the Spaniard was feeling sick and suffering physically in the last few days. We’ll have to see further if this was something temporary or not.
Carlos has been in fine form this year, a 52-11 record for the season and several titles (two Slams, one Masters 1000 and one ATP500 title), but we’ve also seen several dips in form against lower ranked players then Rublev…
Andrey Rublev, was just second best in the ATP Finals opener against Zverev and losing the serve once in each set was enough for the German to claim the victory at that time.
The Russian has not been in great form since the American hard-court swing and sometimes seem to struggle on the court. His bad temper is another thing you always have to factor in with Rublev.

H2H
This is just the third meeting between these two and they hold a draw so far with one win each. The latest meeting at the Madrid Open earlier this year ended with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win for Rublev.
Odds and Predictions for Alcaraz vs Rublev
A lot depends on the health of Alcaraz of course, is he fully recovered? Well, we have to believe he is fit for fight and will give it all here to avoid early elimination.
He should then have enough to overcome Rublev, a player that can reach high level but his performances are just too inconsistent. His hope is by pressing Alcaraz on his serve, as that has been a slight problem for the Spaniard at times during the season.
With neither player in peak form, but an important match, we might be in for a battle. We’ll go for a bet on Alcaraz to win in three sets at odds 3.60 | +260.
