After some heavy rain fell over Paris yesterday, most of the outdoor games had to be postponed and that means we’ll see a lot of 2nd round action today, if the weather stays calm.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic face Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena and recent Italian Open winner Alexander Zverev takes on David Goffin.

An interesting match-up is Mariano Navone vs Tomas Machac, two in-form players that should give us a spicy game. Can Jan-Lennard Struff continue his recent form against Bublik? We also have Taylor Fritz take on clay specialist Dusan Lajovic where the American still should have the edge in his current form.

In the women’s draw, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina will continue their French Open campaigns today. They will look to put pressure on Swiatek that barely got through to the next round in yesterdays match against Osaka.

Let’s head over to some predictions and tennis betting tips for one off todays matches;

Tallon Griekspoor vs Luciano Darderi

Italian tennis is literally on fire and even though Luciano Darderi is not yet on Sinner’s level, it’s a player to watch in the coming years.

Probably one of the most feared ones in Paris among the unseeded players, Luciano managed a solid win in the first round against Rinky Hijikata (6-3, 7-6, 6-1), which was actually his first Grand Slam match.

While he’s lacking that experience, the 22-year-old has had a great season winning a lot of matches since his maiden ATP title in February and he looks solid in the clay swing so far. In fact he played on lot on the red dirt this year, competed in eleven clay-court tournaments if you count both ATP and Challenger Tour level.

Tallon Griekspoor had a decent year without reaching his top level and we can’t really say clay is his preferred surface… He’s been solid on tour and beat Mackenzie McDonald to reach this round. Will it be third time lucky for the Dutch 27-year-old, as he’s currently 2 losses out of 2 in French Open second-round matches.

This will be the first ever meeting between Griekspoor and Darderi.

Prediction: This might be a tight match between two aggressive players, but looking at the surface and current form, I’ll go with a bet on the Italian here. Darderi to progress to the third round.
