Novak Djokovic vs Lorenzo Musetti Predictions
A rematch of a classic clash of three years ago when a young Musetti shocked Novak with a 2-set lead before retiring in the fifth set. Now, following an impressive win over Gael Monfils on Thursday (7-5, 6-1, 6-4) the Italian has the chance to challenge the World no 1 again.
Djokovic heads into this round from a rather routine 6-4, 6-1, 6-2 win over Roberto Carballes Baena in the 2nd round and maybe his season will start show some consistency. It feels like a game where Novak will show if he can raise his level when needed, even in 2024.
The Serb is 4-1 up in the H2H and last match was the Monte Carlo ATP this year where he was slightly pressured by Musetti in the 7-5, 6-3 victory.
Prediction: I expect Djokovic to progress from this round, but Musetti will try to pressure him in the areas he knows best. He can definitely take a set at least against an opponent that still hasn’t shown that consistency that we’re used to.
