Zverev vs Fritz, ATP Finals, Preview with Predictions and Latest Odds

by Stefan Jonsson
zverev win

World no 2 Alexander Zverev looks unstoppable after beating Alcaraz in straight sets on Friday afternoon. That win takes him to the top of the group and sets up a good semi-final clash with the American hope, Taylor Fritz.

The 27-year-old extended his winning streak to eight matches with the win over Alcaraz and therefore the 1st place of the John Newcombe Group at the ATP Finals. The German looks to be in great form at the end of the season and will surely aim to challenge Sinner for the trophy in Torino this year.

“It’s been three fantastic matches,” commented Zverev. “I’m happy with being 3-0 in the group for sure, but I think now the semi-final is going to be very difficult. Taylor beat me the past few times at the Slams, so I’m looking forward to that match.”

Zverev winning against Alcaraz

This will be the 12th meeting between Zverev and Fritz, and the fifth one for the season.

Taylor Fritz is also in good form and heading for his best-ever season. The American is 51-22 for the year at the moment and climbed to no 5 in the world rankings. He eventually managed to progress from the group after beating Medvedev followed by a hard-fought victory against Alex de Minaur.

This is an even match-up where Fritz holds a 6-5 lead and is actually 5-2 up on hard-court. The last three matches has gone the American’s way and the latest match came at the Laver Cup this year where Fritz won 6-4, 7-5.

Odds and Predictions for Zverev vs Fritz

Despite the head-to-head going in the Americans favour, the favorite for this match among the bookmakers is clearly Zverev. The Bovada sports betting odds shows an odds of 1.40 | -250 for Zverev and 3.00 | +200 for a Fritz victory.

The world no 2 is currently playing incredible tennis and this is also his favorite surface. So far, he didn’t lose a set in Torino this week (against Rublev, Ruud and Alcaraz). He has looked impressive in most departments, on both wings and not at least his serves.

Fritz will make it a tough one but expect Zverev to continue his winning streak and progress to the final this weekend!
