Pablo Carreno Busta Racquet

by TN

Pablo Carrena Busta is at the time of writing on level terms with Dominic Thiem in the Rio Open final. The Spaniard is currently ranked 24 in the world at the ripe age of 25 and has two titles to his name. Carreno Busta endorses the Wilson Burn line, but what is actually underneath the paint is a Wilson pro stock model called H22 in 18×20 string pattern. He strings it with Luxilon Alu Power.

Carreno Busta is most comfortable on clay and can hit big on both wings and doesn’t have bad touch either. In 2013 I wrote that this guy was something to keep your eyes on and it seems like I was right. Will be interesting to see how he performs in the rest of 2017. He needs to work on his hard court game, but if he finds a way to improve his game on faster surfaces he can be a top ten player already in 2017.

If you want to see evidence that Carreno Busta’s footwork and feel are top notch, just watch this lovely point against Casper Ruud in Rio:
