Biography and Career

Ugo Humbert was born on 26th June 1998 in Metz, France. He started playing tennis at age 5 and at 12 years of age he started to train with the French Tennis Federation. Injuries prevented him a lot in the first year but in 2015 he reached his first final (doubles, together with Geoffrey Blancaneaux) and he achieved a career-high junior ranking of 18 in the beginning of 2016.

2016 was also the year Humbert turned pro and it took him two years to make his Grand Slam and ATP Tour debut. In the 2018 US Open, Ugo got into the second round where he lost to Stan Wawrinka.

At the end of 2018 he climbed into the top 100 of the ATP rankings following some successful Challenger events and finally his second Challenger title in Ortisei.

In 2020 we saw Humbert claim his first two ATP titles. His first one came at the The Auckland Open (or ASB Classic) where he defeated Benoit Paire in the final. Tee second title came at the ATP Antwerp when he defeated eighth seed, Alex de Minaur, in the final.

His career has seen a steady rise, in 2021 saw him win the first ATP 500 level event at Halle and saw a short period in the top 25 of rankings.

Up until today, Ugo Humbert has claimed six ATP titles, five of them on hard court and one on grass.
