The most beautiful tennis racquet?

What is the most beautiful tennis racquet? It’s a highly subjective thing, but I recently received a strong candidate.

The Most Beautiful Tennis Racquet? The Lacoste LT 12

I received a surprise box from Lacoste that at first didn’t look like the usual flat and rectangular tennis box. But when opened it I found a white racquet pocket with a Lacoste logo and the letters LT12 on it. Inside was a rare racquet called the Lacoste LT12 that I was drooling over when it was released in 2015. It is one of the prettiest racquets that I own, but I’m keen to hear from you: what is the most beautiful tennis racquet?

I made a video about the Lacoste LT 12 here.

What is the Lacoste LT12?

The racquet I received is nr 515 from a handmade batch of 650 racquets that were produced in 2015 by Alain Gallais and Alain Zanco. Each racquet takes five hours to build and is made of three layers of wood (70%) and graphite (30%).

For being a wooden racquet (at least in the majority of the materials), it has more of a modern spec with a 100 sq inch head size, 300 gram unstrung weight and 32.7 cm balance.

The racquet is so elegant that I am not even sure if I should string it up and try it, but I feel like I have the obligation to you, fellow tennis nerds, to give it a swing or two :)

As soon as wood is involved in a tennis racquet, we can expect a high degree of flexibility and comfort, but you rarely see this kind of combination of new and modern technology.

Where can you buy it?

Sadly, the Lacoste LT12 was produced in a limited run and has not been re-released. Lacoste has produced a few other racquets together with Tecnifibre. For example the Lacoste LT 20, that I review here.
