There’s nothing worse than looking forward to a tennis tournament for weeks, then missing some of the action because you got your timezones wrong. Don’t worry, we’re here to help and make sure that doesn’t happen with the US Open.
The US Open Tennis tournament in 2024 is set to take place from the 26th of August to the 8th of September, 2024, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. To help you navigate the key dates, here’s a detailed breakdown of the US Open 2024 schedule, including when the US Open final is, and what days the semi-finals occur.
Week 1: Early Rounds
Action at the US Open can easily be broken down into three broad categories: the early rounds, the advanced rounds and the final weekend.
For the early rounds, this is six days of action that covers the first three rounds of both singles events. Each day will see one half of the draw play. In 2024, it’s the bottom half of the both draws that play first (days one, three and five), while the top half plays on even days (days two, four and six).
Play will be split up into day and night sessions. Here’s how the start times are looking around the world:
- New York (ET): Monday, 26th August to Saturday 31st August, 11:00 AM & 7:00 PM
- London (BST): Monday, 26th August to Saturday 31st August, 4:00 PM & 12:00 AM

Note that doubles action will begin two days into the tournament, starting on Wednesday 28th August in New York.
Week 2: Advanced Rounds
From day seven onwards, round of 16 action will begin in the two singles events. This follows the same start date, and will also unfold over two days, with each half of the draw playing on alternate days.
