Agassi’s Early Life
Andre Kirk Agassi was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 29, 1970. He is of Armenian and Assyrian descent, and his father, Emmanuel “Mike” Agassi, was a former Olympic boxer for Iran. From an early age, Agassi was introduced to tennis, with his father pushing him and his siblings to succeed.
Rising Stardom
Agassi turned professional at the tender age of 16 in 1986. His career progressed rapidly, and he quickly became known for his phenomenal tennis abilities, colorful outfits, and charismatic personality. He was the face of a new, rebellious generation of tennis.
In 1988, he won six singles titles. His flamboyant style made him one of tennis’ most marketable athletes. He became popular in endorsements, notably with brands like Nike, Canon, and more.

Throughout his career, Agassi won a total of eight Grand Slam titles:
