Davis Cup Finals Predictions 2023

by Jonas Eriksson

The Davis Cup is decided in Malaga this week between eight teams. Here are our Davis Cup Finals Predictions 2023.

If you have not lived under a rock, you know that the Davis Cup format has greatly changed in recent years, to the annoyance of many tennis fans and players. The new format has eight teams deciding the title from quarter-finals to finals.

It is not easy to make Davis Cup Finals predictions as team tennis is very different from just regular singles competitions. Even though there is no home team this time around (Spain did not qualify!), the format makes it rather open for upsets.

If you are into tennis betting, you can check out the best tennis betting sites or more information about how to bet on tennis. We have also created a page for Davis Cup Finals Betting and Odds.

Davis Cup Quarter-Final Predictions 2023

Let us have a look at the Davis Cup Quarter-Final Predictions 2023.

The first two days have one match on the schedule, while the Thursday has two matches.

Canada vs Finland Davis Cup Prediction

Canada won last year, and Felix Auger-Aliassime was the team’s anchor. FAA has had a rough year, as detailed in the post. What’s up with Auger-Aliassime? and Denis Shapovalov is injured and not playing. Finland are clear underdogs, but still a dangerous team and thanks to the large group of Finns living close to Malaga (Fuengirola), they will have strong support.

Considering Canada is not showing up with the strongest team, an upset might be in the cards. However, the physical form of Finland’s strongest player, Ruusuvuori is somewhat in question. Even if he plays, he will not be a hundred percent.

The odds are in Canada’s favor. You get 1.44 your bet for a Canada win and 2.62 for a Finnish victory.

TN Prediction: We think Canada will come through 2-0 since the Finnish star is not in top form.

Czechia vs Australia

Australia loves the format. They have probably the most passionate Davis Cup captain of all the teams in Lleyton Hewitt (although he does prefer the old format by many miles). Australia has the stronger team on paper as well and are on of the favorites to win the event, if not the favorite.

The young Czechs will need to battle the hard. But sometimes a young team without expectations and pressure can be particularly dangerous.

We know that Lehecka and Machac can beat pretty much anyone, but De Minaur is very reliable as the first player for the Aussies. They also have Matthew Ebden in doubles to lead the team.

The odds are heavily in Australia’s favor at 1.28 times your bet, while you get 3.50 on a Czechia win.

TN Prediction: We believe Australia will come through in the doubles, 2-1.

Italy vs the Netherlands Davis Cup Prediction

Is Sinner tired, or will he help Italy push through? Italy has become a great tennis nation with many top 100 ATP players. Still, the format is only two singles matches and one doubles match to decide it. Sinner and Musetti are a great team, though. They can also through in Sonego or Arnaldi, also fantastic players.

Vavassori and Bolelli is a powerful doubles duo, as well.

But it is not like the Netherlands have a bad doubles team with Middlekoop and Koolhof! Two world-class doubles players. However, Griekspoor and Van de Zandschulp need at least one win to bring it into to the doubles decider.

Italy is the odds favorites at 1.61 vs 2.20 but this match feels open.

TN Prediction: Italy takes it 2-0 thanks to Sinner and Musetti.

Serbia vs Great Britain Davis Cup Prediction

How fresh is Novak Djokovic? Well, he always seems fresh. Kecmanovic is not a bad second option and Djere has had a great year too.

Great Britain lacks Andy Murray, but Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans and Jack Draper are solid options. However, Dan Evans is injured as well, which means Liam Broady is added to the mix. For doubles, Neal Skupski will lead the team onwards.

Serbia is the favorite at 1.50 vs Great Britain at 2.50.

TN Prediction: The Djokovic effect is too powerful. We believe Serbia will take it in the doubles 2-1.

What do you think of our predictions? And which team do you think lifts the trophy in the end?
