About the Canadian Open
The Canadian Open, or the Montreal Masters as some call it, is the second-oldest active professional tennis tournament after Wimbledon, having been first held in 1881. The tournament was originally held exclusively for men, but a women’s competition was added in 1967. Since 2004, the tournament has been held in two cities: Montreal and Toronto which alternate hosting the men’s and women’s events each year.
Court Info
The Canadian Open is played on outdoor hard courts. The men’s tournament is played at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto and the women’s tournament is played at IGA Stadium in Montreal. Both stadiums are state-of-the-art facilities that can accommodate thousands of spectators.
Surface and Game Conditions
The hard courts at the Canadian Open are relatively fast, which means that the ball bounces lower and faster than on other surfaces. This can make for faster-paced matches with more powerful serves and groundstrokes.
One of Nine ATP Masters 1000 Tournaments

Betting Tips for the 2024 Canadian Open
This tournament is played on outdoor hard courts, which favor aggressive baseliners with strong serves and powerful groundstrokes. Considering things like the court surface, tournament conditions and historical trends, here are some tips for the 2024 Canadian Open betting adventure.
1. Favor Players with Strong Serves and Groundstrokes:
The hard courts at the Canadian Open are relatively fast, favoring players who can consistently deliver powerful serves and control the rallies with their groundstrokes. Look for players with a high percentage of first-serve wins, effective second serves, and the ability to hit winners from both the forehand and backhand sides.
2. Consider Players with Past Success in Canada:
The Canadian Open has a rich history and past performance can be a valuable indicator of future success. Players who have consistently performed well in the tournament are more likely to feel comfortable in the conditions that applies here. It would be fun if someone can truly challenge Djokovic though…
3. Keep an Eye on Players with Experience in Fast Courts:
Players who have experience playing on fast courts, such as the Australian Open and the US Open, may have a competitive edge at the Canadian Open. These players are accustomed to the pace and rhythm of hard courts, and they may be better equipped to handle the aggressive rallies that characterize the tournament.
4. Favor Players who Handle Pressure Well:
The Canadian Open is a high-pressure environment, and players who can handle the pressure of competing in front of a large crowd are more likely to succeed. Look for players with a strong mental game, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and the ability to close out matches decisively.
5. Consider Upsets and Surprises:
This event is known for its upsets and surprises, so it is important to be flexible with your 2024 Canadian Open betting strategy. Keep an eye out for players who may be undervalued or overlooked, and don’t be afraid to take a chance on an outsider.
And as always, bet responsible and do NOT bet money you cannot afford to lose.
