Tournament Structure
The Italian Open is a single-elimination tournament with a 128-player singles draw and a 32-player doubles draw. There is also a qualifying tournament for both singles and doubles.
Qualification
The qualifying tournament is held the week before the main draw and features 64 players in singles and 16 teams in doubles. The winners of the qualifying tournament advance to the main draw.
Prize Money
The total prize money for the Italian Open is €7,705,780. The winner of the singles tournament receives €836,350, and the winner of the doubles tournament receives €291,500.
The prize money is split evenly between the men’s and women’s tournaments. All money earned is also subject to Italian income tax.
