The excellent ATP 250 in Stuttgart gets a new title sponsor! It’s now called BOSS Open and is sponsored by HUGO BOSS.
The BOSS Open takes place between June 4th to June 12th. The cooperation between organizer the e|motion group and HUGO BOSS AG will run until 2025.
My friend Edwin Weindörfer is the tournament director in Stuttgart and this is what he had to say about the deal:
“We are very happy, that we were able to partner with such a successful company of world-wide reputation as title sponsor for the tournament in Stuttgart. The timing could not have been better regarding the brand renewal and the new direction of BOSS. Thus, we are very proud to perfectly stage the brand at our ATP tournament in Stuttgart”.
BOSS has a new CEO since a while back, which has led to a modernization and a re-brand. This is what CEO Daniel Grieder had to say about the partnership and tennis sponsorship:
“Boss is looking back on a long tradition in sports sponsoring and I am very happy, that we are able to make our comeback on the tennis court with the legendary Weissenhof tournament in Stuttgart. The BOSS OPEN will be an important date on the tennis calendar with exceptional players, bringing the right attitude and energy to be successful. We wish all the players the best of luck and are looking forward to an exciting tournament”.
Players ready for the BOSS Open
As a first present, BOSS will bring its brand ambassador Matteo Berrettini to this year’s BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart. The Italian is currently ranked no. 10 in the world, heading the entry list of the grass court tournament (769,645 Euro total financial commitment), followed by Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz (ATP no. 13) and Canadian Denis Shapovalov (ATP no. 15).
Furthermore, linesmen, ball kinds and tournament staff will be equipped with BOSS outfits. The sponsoring underlines the company’s commitment for its home region, with its headquarters located in Metzingen, thus expressing the new identity of the brand BOSS right in the heart of Stuttgart.
The Weissenhof experience
I have visited the tournament in Stuttgart many times since they changed to grass courts in 2015 and I’ve always had a great time. You can see a video of me playing on grass at the Weissenhof on my YouTube channel and I also wrote some posts about my experience at the tournament some years ago. I hope to visit the tournament again this year to capture a video about the tournament experience.
