Matteo Berrettini vs Holger Rune, Shanghai Masters, Odds and Predictions

Today’s prediction will be from the second round of the 2024 Shanghai Masters where Holger Rune takes on Italian Matteo Berrettini.

This might be an intense battle between two very talented players that has been a bit up and down lately.

Berrettini, used to injuries, had his fair share also this season and last week we saw him once again retiring in the second round against Arthur Fils. The Italian reached this round by beating Chris O’Connel in the first match, where it was very tight and two tie-breaks was needed to separate the players.

The former no 6 ranked, didn’t look too impressive but his strong serves saved him at more than one occasion, winning 75% of points on his first serve.

Holger Rune has shown glimpses of what he can do this season but is still not consistent enough. The Dane holds a 36-20 record this year though and is looking to end his run of early exits at Masters 1000 tournaments.

Currently ranked 14 , Rune had mixed results in all competitions this year but reached the semi-final of the Japan Open last week where he eventually lost to title winner Arthur Fils.
