New Tecnifibre TF40 (2024)

by Jonas Eriksson

There is a new Tecnifibre TF40 out. It came, to me, out of the blue, but I am curious to test it when I get a chance.

What’s new in the Tecnifibre TF40 in 2024? Well, at first glance, the cosmetic is more adventurous with patterns in green and orange, which creates a more interesting design than the standard white, red, and blue.

The line consists of five new racquets, the TF40 18/20 and 16/19 in different weights. From 290 (which is a new model), to 305 and up to 315 grams. You can check them all out at Tennis Warehouse Europe (get 10% off using TNERD10). Tennis Warehouse and Tennis Only does not carry the new ones yet, but they offer discounts on the outgoing TF40.

There are specifications yet on the retailers above. You can find them on the Tecnifibre website, such as the below info for the 16/19, 315 gram model, but there is no mention there of stiffness or swing weight, for example.

Head size 630cm² / 98in²

Weight 315g / 11,1oz

Balance 325mm

Length 68,6cm

Stringing pattern 16×19

Cross section 21,7

Technology

Like the previous generation, this racket combines the laser-like precision of a dense 18×20 string pattern with great ball feedback and enough mass to comfortably redirect higher levels of pace. Technologies include a stable RS Sharp beam along with Dynacore XTC for extra touch, dwell time, and pocketing. This racket also has Foam Inside for a more solid feel at impact.

As far as I can understand, nothing stands out as new in terms of tech. One thing I noted on the Tecnifibre website is the wider Extense BG eyelets which will allow the strings to “breathe” and maintain response on off-centre hits.

What to expect?

Like the previous generation, I expect excellent control, nice stability thanks to the foam inside and that classic, rectangular Tecnifibre grip shape.

Will the update include more dampening? A higher swing weight for more power like the Tfight ISO 305? Time will tell. Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter or YouTube channel for updates.
