Raducanu’s tennis racquet

Updated on January 5th, 2026.

What is UK tennis superstar Emma Raducanu’s racquet? Well, it used to be the Wilson Blade Pro 100, which is the same racquet as the old Steam 100 BLX. But in 2026, Emma is starting her season with a Yonex Ezone 100 strung with Luxilon Alu Power.

Raducanu used to play a pretty light spec for her Wilson racquet: 305g unstrung, 286 swing weight, 31.5 cm balance point. If you add strings and over grip to this, you’re looking at something like (approximating here, it depends on the string, of course) 328g, 318 SW, and 32.3 cm balance point. We don’t know if she has adjusted her specs for the new Ezone, but we would assume so.

Bio and Career

Born November 13, 2002, in Toronto, Canada, and raised in Bromley, England, Emma Raducanu started playing tennis from the age of five.

Turning pro in 2018, she reached a junior peak of No. 20, winning four ITF junior titles, including Grade-2 events in India and Lithuania.

Her breakthrough came in 2021 at Wimbledon, where, ranked No. 338 and as a wildcard, she reached the fourth round. Months later, she made history at the 2021 US Open, becoming the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam singles title, defeating Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-3 without dropping a set, the youngest British woman to win a Major since Virginia Wade in 1977.

Following some tougher years with plenty of injuries, Emma reached the Wimbledon fourth round again in 2024, beating no 9 Maria Sakkari, and got her first Top 10 win over Jessica Pegula at Eastbourne.

So far in 2025, ranked No. 40, she managed to reached the French Open second round, despite illness, and looks strong at the Wimbledon, upsetting the 2023 champion Markéta Vondroušová in straight sets.

  1. Great info! What’s the closest, in terms of specs and mold, to this Steam that’s possible to buy now? Thanks!

  2. I recall one of your articles from a few years ago that showed the average weights and SW of pro’s rackets, which indicated customisation was present for most players. Do you think this new generation are just using retail stock rackets nowadays, and going essentially for more free power with lighter and stiffer frames?

  3. Connected or smart rackets have been around for 7 years. Surely someone has come up by now with a racket that can tweak a player’s shot in real time? As a physicist if you have an accelerometer, gps and a gyroscope in your racket handle maybe you can adjust the tension in the strings to keep the ball inside the line if the player slightly misjudges? Most of the kit has been in mobile phones for some time! No?

  4. Thanks for the details of Emma’s racquet.
I think a racquet that has very similar specs is the Yonex Vcore Dual G 100 from a few years ago.
    It’s a 100 size, 300g, 316 swing, same string pattern.

  5. Thank you for this information. Just a heads up, I think Ferrer actually used the Steam 99 mold rather than the 100 you stated. You can see this in the groves the unique throat.

  6. I have a steam 100 BLX and it is very easy to use and really comfortable for just relaxed rallying. Strung it with Head Hawk Touch 18g.
