Yonex VCORE 98 Tour

by Jonas Eriksson

Here is something interesting for advanced spin players! The Yonex VCORE 98 Tour. A heavier version of the well-liked Yonex VCORE 98.

Yonex VCORE 98 Tour

The 2023 Yonex VCORE racquets introduced some significant changes to the line. You can read more about them in our Yonex VCORE Review. The Yonex VCORE 98 Tour is the heavier version of the popular VCORE 98—a spin-friendly racquet with excellent stability and plow-through. The stiffness is relatively low and I haven’t heard from any players struggling with arm issues from the new VCORE line-up.

You can check out the Yonex VCORE 98 Tour at Tennis Warehouse, but not sure when it will be available at Tennis Warehouse Europe or Tennis Only.

Tech

The tech is the same in the VCORE 98 Tour as in the regular VCORE 98. This is a heavier spec of the VCORE 98. Similar to what you have with the Ezone 98 and the Ezone 98 Tour.

ISOMETRIC head shape, which has become the Yonex trademark tech. There to increase the sweet spot and forgiveness. SIF Grommets – a silicone oil infusion to reduce the friction between the string and grommet.
VDM Mesh in the handle to help with vibration dampening.
2-NAMD FlexForce Graphite in the upper shaft and lower hoop, enabling the racquet to flex optimally through impact.

I talk about this racquet in a future podcast episode with the legendary play-test Chris Edwards. So stay tuned for that and our review.
