Babolat Pure Aero Rafa Racquet Bag Review

Babolat usually make quality tennis bags and the new Rafa racquet bag is no different. Here is our Babolat Pure Aero Rafa Racquet Bag Review.

Babolat Pure Aero Rafa Racquet Bag Review

I bring a LOT of stuff to the tennis court. Since I always work on some kind of content, I bring extra racquets, a tripod, possibly microphones, shoes, water, a change of clothes, a towel, and balls. Yeah, I need space! So going below the 12-racquet bag is not possible.

The new Babolat Pure Aero Rafa racquet bag is a redesigned version of the classic Babolat 12-racquet bag. You can feel that the material is different (fully waterproof!) and that the straps have a different design. It feels like a sturdy bag and I have been using it for a while, as check-in luggage for flights as well, packed to the brim with stuff and it still looks like brand new.

The bag has three main compartments, with both sides offering an accessory pocket. There is also a large vented shoe tunnel on the bottom. Let’s look at the specifications of the Rafa racquet bag.

Specifications

    • Dimensions: 31″ x 15″ x 17″ / 80cm x 35cm x 45cm
    • 3 main compartments will hold up to 12 racquets
    • Accessory pockets on both sides of the bag with a smaller pocket on the top
    • Large, vented shoe tunnel
    • Ergonomic, padded, adjustable shoulder straps
    • Waterproof
    • Insulated to keep items protected from extreme temperatures
    • Interior is un-dyed
    • Color: Black / Pink / Yellow

Verdict

This is a great bag and in stern competition, it has become one of my main bags. I test a lot of racquet bags and you can see some of my favorite bags here. This one is definitely one of my favorites. I find it hard to fault and it looks great. Maybe a cooling pocket like the ADV Jetpack Pro bag would have been nice. And it doesn’t stand up as well as the Geau Axiom large bag but for a traditional bag, it’s absolutely excellent and feels more durable than their previous bags.

It’s not cheap, but it should last you a long time.

You can check out the Pure Aero Rafa racquet bag from my friends at Tennis Warehouse, Tennis Warehouse Europe but not yet at Tennis Only (linking to the old Rafa bag).
