Indian Wells Quarterfinals, Predictions and Odds

by Stefan Jonsson
Jannik Sinner

We have already reached the mens quarterfinals in the 2024 BNP Paribas Open and we can look forward to some hot matches today. Without names like Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Grigor Dimitrov, the field is still very strong.

Italian Jannik Sinner is still the favorite among the tennis sportsbooks, followed closely by Carlos Alcaraz and Medvedev.

Below we’re looking closer at the four matches along with our betting predictions and where to bet on the Indian Wells.

Jiri Lehecka vs Jannik Sinner

Jiri Lehecka, a surprise for many, has been very impressive with straight set wins against tough opponents Rublev and Tsitsipas. He’s up for a different challenge against Sinner though, as they both have similar strengths and the Italian is most likely the stronger one at the moment.

Sinner has 15-0 (!) this season and only lost 4 sets in total for the year. We just can’t see the 32-ranked Czech break this trend, even with his great form.

Odds:

  • Lehecka 6.00 | 5/1 | +500
  • Sinner 1.14 | 1/8 | -800

Predictions / Our bet: Sinner to win in 2 sets

Tommy Paul vs Casper Ruud

Tommy Paul managed what Djokovic didn’t and by beating Italian youngster Luca Nardi he’s now in an exciting quarterfinal clash with Norwegian Casper Ruud.

Paul is now the last American left in the tournament and he has shown he can challenge even the big names.

Casper Ruud has 4-1 in H2H against the Tommy Paul and is ranked higher. Most of his success is on clay but his hard-court skills are looking really good this year.

Odds:

  • Paul 2.20 | 6/5 | +120
  • Ruud 1.67 | 4/6 | -150

Predictions / Our bet: Over 22.5 Games

Alexander Zverev vs Carlos Alcaraz

A bit surprisingly, Zverev has a 5-3 h2h record against Alcaraz and no other player on the ATP tour has more wins against the Spaniard.

Their last meeting was in the Australian Open back in January, where Zverev he won over four sets.

World no 2 and defending Indian Wells champion Carlos Alcaraz is favorite in this match, and by quite a lot… maybe too much in our opinion. He seem to have found his form and rhythm compared to earlier in the year but Zverev is not out of a decent chance here.

Odds:

  • Zverev 3.10 | 21/10 | +210
  • Alcaraz 1.36 | 4/11 | -275

Predictions / Our bet: Over 0.5 Total Number of Tiebreaks

Daniil Medvedev vs Holger Rune

A tough match in the last quarterfinal where the favorite Medvedev looks as strong as usual on hard-courts and he has actually won his last 8 out of the last 9 at the Indian Wells Masters.

Holger Rune has come off with some really decent results lately, not at least in the last win vs Taylor Fritz. This is another level though and Medvedev should master his way into the semi-finals.

Odds:

  • Medvedev 1.44 | 4/9 | -225
  • Rune 2.75 | 7/4 | +175

Predictions / Our bet: Medvedev to win
